The Permanent Deacon is ordained to the clerical state and assigned to a parish by the Archbishop. The Permanent Deacon assists the celebrant at Eucharist, is an ordinary minister of the Eucharist and proclaims and preaches the Word of God. He may baptize and officiate at marriages and celebrate the rites of Christian burial. Our Deacons visit the sick, attend to the care of youth, the needy, the lonely and those under stress, including the separated, widowed or divorced. They assist the Pastor in other areas as they are needed.
