Congratulations on your engagement!

 We are so excited to work with you on preparing you for your sacramental marriage. We understand this is a crazy, exciting, hectic time for you and we are here to walk with you to get you to this most important day and beyond.

Couples who are preparing for marriage should contact Barbara Austin, at 443-981-3187 or [email protected] for additional information at least 6 months in advance of your anticipated wedding day.

 Preparation includes:

 Step 1 - Meeting with the parish minister and includes a Pre-nuptial Investigation.

Step 2, 3, & 4 - incudes meeting with Mentor Couples for personal formation for marriage with topics that incude the sacrament and vocation of marriage, communication skills, decision making, finances, spirituality, sexuality and family planning.

 Step 5 - Take and review a FOCCUS Inventory on compatibility

 Step 6 - Follow-up session with parish minister.

 Step 7 - Follow-up session with parish minister to complete planning for the wedding liturgy.

 Long before cultures or governments ever discussed marriage, God placed on the human heart a longing for the unique, lifelong commitment, and total self-giving love found in the Sacrament of Matrimony.

 God reveals the meaning of love most perfectly on the Cross where Jesus Christ—the Bridegroom—lays down his life in sacrifice for his bride, the Church. We'll see how the Cross connects to a deeper understanding of the Sacrament of Matrimony.

 Marriage creates something that didn't exist before: a sacramental bond between a husband and wife. It is essential in both the mystery and the reality of married life. But how do we make that bond a reality amidst the daily pressures of our lives together?
