From the Pastor’s Desk (8/27/2017)

“Who do you say that I am ?”  It is the question Jesus puts to Peter after people are suspecting that He’s Elijah or Jeremiah or one of the prophets.  Peter answers that he believes Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God.  That will change his entire destiny. This poor fisherman from a tiny village in a small country leaves his livelihood, his family and becomes one of the pillars of the Christian Church because of his confession of faith.

Knowing Jesus should change our lives as well.  For some people that means leaving everything and entering a monastery or a convent or going as a missionary to a foreign country.  But if we are not called to that vocation that does not mean that our confession of faith should be any less radical.  If we truly believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, not just a nice person or a moral teacher, then we should live and act radically different than the ways of our world.  Think about it!  What in your life needs to change this week if you truly, truly believe in Jesus as the Son of God?
