This is the longest amount of time we have in the calendar to celebrate the Fourth Week of Advent. We have one whole week between this Sunday and Christmas Day! As we tend to hurtle towards Christmas, PLEASE take the time this week to pause and pray. Take ONE MINUTE for silence and I guarantee it will make the whole Christmas season more meaningful for you.
In the reading from the Prophet Isaiah, God speaks to Ahaz and tells him to ask for a sign. But Ahaz, thinking he knows more than God, refuses saying, “I will not ask. I will not tempt the Lord.” But it is God who is challenging him to ask! God can do the same for us this week. He WANTS to be present in our lives even amidst the drama, the busyness, and the weariness. In fact God is there if we would just take a moment to acknowledge and recognize His presence. I challenge you, as God challenged Ahaz, this week to find Jesus in an unexpected place.
HANGING OF THE GREENS — You are invited to join the St. Mark family in decorating the Church for our Christmas Liturgies on Friday, December 23rd at 9:30 am. Bring some snacks to share and we will provide coffee, tea, hot cider and soft drinks.
