From the Pastor’s Desk (3/26/2017)

As we continue our journey through Lent, please be extra aware of how our actions affect others, especially in worship.

  • Please make every effort to maintain reverence and silence in church. We have a beautiful Narthex in which to chat and greet one another but many people come to church early to have some time to pray.  While not ignoring people or neglecting to say hello we do not need extended and loud conversations in church.
  • We are blest with great families and wonderful children. If your child is having a hard time or is particularly restless or loud please feel free to walk with them in the Narthex or to be with them while seeing Mass on the TV in the Narthex.  This will help you to focus on the Mass and allow others to hear the readings, the homily and to focus on the Eucharist.
  • Electronic devices are part of our culture but emailing or texting during Mass is completely unnecessary, disrespectful and inappropriate.  Please leave your cell phones in your car (if you do not need them for emergencies) or, at least, remember to turn them off.

These few housekeeping items will keep you and your valued fellow parishioners more reverent, more prayerful and more focused during Mass.  Remember most people have only this one precious hour a week to be with God at the Eucharist. Let’s make it the very best we can!
