From the Pastor’s Desk (11/27/2016)

Here we are, once again, in the beautiful season of Advent. It is supposed to be a time of preparation, and yes, even a little penance, to get ready for the birth of Jesus at Christmas.  Each year Advent celebrates a twofold purpose – – to get us ready for the second coming of Christ in glory, and to celebrate His first coming on that wondrous night in Bethlehem thousands of years ago.

I truly love this time of year. I enjoy the music and the celebrations and the food and the traditions. In the midst of all this, please take time to change your schedule, though, and pray! There is no better way to get ready for Christmas and to truly celebrate Advent.

It’s too easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle and miss Advent. Don’t let this happen to you this year.
